Our corespondent from Paris, Giovanni Di Nunzio, has sent us some exclusive shots backstage from a very interesting fashion show during the Paris Fashion Week. Walter van Beirendonck put twenty clones of himself down the catwalk, in a collection entitled WonderBear.
Many have tried to put none models on stage but we find this experiment very interesting. We wish clothes looked less like uniform but definitely see the market for it...
NYTimes: The trademark of the hirsute Walter Van Beirendonck is a not-so-cuddly bear. Make the final letter of “bear” into an “R” for “registered” symbol and you have the essence of the Belgian designer’s show. He showed all the copyright and trademark signs on a pair of socks and pointed out in program notes that basic words, from “earth” to “moon,” are trademarked. All this was the background to Walter look-a-like models parading in quilted bubble fabrics, bright colors and swimsuits for the grand finale.
