Apple has just announced the release of their iPhone successor, the iPhone 3GS which is set to release June 19th in a 16GB ($199) and 32GB ($299) model. The current iPhone 3G will be lowered to $99 starting June 8.
AT&T announced that only new and upgrade-eligible customers would be able to pick up a 3G S for the advertised prices of $199 (16GB) and $299 (32GB), or even an iPhone 3G for $99 (8GB).
Existing iPhone 3G customers, who endured those long queues last July, will have to shell out $599 for a new 16GB 3G S and respectively $699 for the 32GB model. Alternative upgrade pricing comes at $399 and $499.
