Les Hommes is the brand conceived by Tom Notte and Bart Vandebosch, two designers in their early thirties from the Antwerp school. They show their collection during the Male Fashion Week in Milan. If Tim Burton’s “Sleepy Hollow” and Kubrick's “A Clockwork Orange” were among the visual references for previous collections, the inspiration for the LES HOMMES – HOMME Autumn-Winter 07-08 collection was found in the historical period of the Interbellum, more specifically the late 1930’s in the Far East.
Tibetan history, ethnic culture and their clash with western influences is the key inspiration in this collection. The traditional way of Tibetan dressing has inspired the volumes; the three piece-suit has a dandy look but is designed with a British-colonial touch; a large variety of fancy fabrics, Prince of Wales, pin-stripes and checks, are used in conformity with the inspiration; military details are inserted as a reference to the period. The final result is a very sophisticated man, dressed up and smart chic. Tom Notte & Bart Vandebosch are back with another winning collection and -we are sure- they are here to stay!
