Nico and Adrian / Spring 07

NY design duo Nico and Adrian (Nicolas de Urquiza and Adrian Alicea) unveil their 2007 Spring and Summer Collection during New York's Fashion Week on September 15th. The collection, inspired by carousel horses, is both regal and whimsical. Snug little jackets and slim pencil skirts in denim and silk, halter and strapless dresses fitted on top with fun flouncy hems, and sophisticated evening wear in a palette of vibrant turquoise, indigo, lilac and polo green are a few of the highlights. Attendees include Vogue, print and online media, The Fashion Journal, ID, Sak's Fifth Avenue and other retail buyers.

Jeremy Scott // Style High Club

The fact that Jeremy Scott was born in Kansas may explain the Oz-like sense of whimsy in his designs. His inspiration: S&M leather culture, mermaids and sea monsters, and even Gilette Venus razors, featuring wild designs incorporating trash bags, dollar bills, and one-legged pants. After living and showing in Paris for several years, Scott returned to the U.S. in 2002 to inject a shot of glittered good humor to the Los Angeles fashion scene. What inspired his 2006 collection !? : King Tut goes surfing. It says pretty much all !

The system, by Hedi Slimane, called Dermo system, consists of four products: a hydrating toner, serum, moisturizer and an eye cream dispensed directly on the skin via an applicator resembling a click pen. Retail prices are $51 for eye serum, $62 for 100 ml of toner or 50 ml of moisturizer, or $96 for 50 ml serum. 20-year-old American model named Ambrose was photographed by Slimane himself.

Godspeed The Well-Dressed Man

In the mid twenties, Noel Coward used closing "Godspeed, the well-dressed man" in a written correspondance with Dorothy Parker. In 1937, chanteuse Robin Bontecou sang a song inspired by the letter entitled, "God Damn, You Well-Dressed Man". It's mix of bawdy lyrics and her siren's call made it a hit in Paris and was recorded live in 1938 during Bontecou's only known New York concert. The company took it's name from the Noel Coward letter to remind us of our dedication to history, proper mensweae, and above all: wit.
