The Parisian fashion giant Givenchy transformed a gymnasium into a striking white space leaving Ozwald Boateng the job of modernizing the menswear wardrobe while adhering to the age old Givenchy sartorial tradition they should be proud of. He succeeded with flying colors. Source: FashionWindows

Givenchy has no real menswear history. It's all made up and simply is supposed to be 'based' upon the personal wardrobe of Hubert de Givenchy. Boateng's shows for Givenchy are interesting, too bad the clothes suck in person. More than probably any other designer the stuff on Boateng's runway is not produced for the store, and what is made is like a sick joke. Well constructed and all, but totally lacking in vision, clothes primarily made to be bought by old American men who don't know that there is no real French history in the menswear house. This is reflected in the sizes the stores carry, everything would hang limp and flaccid on a hot bodied model. A total disappointment.
