We are used to seeing their product reinvent the digital world, but this time Apple is entering a mass-market with some new great "inventions". The most exciting one is Mac mini (tiny but full-powered desktop computer), comes in a "lunch box", and it turns the world of computer design on its head. It is also the most competitively priced Apple computer ever.
Mac mini's size may be one of its best selling points. Weighing in at just 1.3 kilograms, the grey computer is only 5cm high and 16.5cm wide and long - smaller than a copy of the Yellow Pages.
The Mac mini is aimed at the same audience as the iPod and comes with a suite of applications for managing music, photos, internet and email. Because the Mac mini works with IBM-compatible monitors, Apple will also be in contention to replace family PCs in need of an upgrade.
